A blend of 90% Shiraz and 10% Viognier. The intense aroma is young and forthright, offering a floral mix of peach stone, jasmine and dark maraschino cherries complexed by star anise, white pepper, black olives and fragrant garden herbs. The palate is full flavored, with beets, blueberries and red cherries and lovely cedary notes that compliment the black tea tannins and edgy mineral acidity. critical acclaim: "Deep, bright-rimmed ruby. SALVATORE MOLETTIERI IRPINIA AGLIANICO 2005, ITALY
The Molettieri family has long passed their small plot of land and wisdom from father to son, giving the current generation a solid base on which to build quality production. It was only in 1995 that Salvatore and his son Giacomo started bottling their own wine rather than selling the grapes; they have not faltered since in their swift ascent to become one of Campania's top producers.

A beast of a red wine. this beauty is one of the finest Alianico's that we've tasted. If you love BIG reds-- give this a try with steaks on the grill or more classic Italian fare. More black than ruby to the color. To the nose it expresses intensity and depth of Mediterranean earth, juniper, carnation and cocoa. The flavor and aromas are full, soft, with a long finish.    ON SALE - $ 25.98

HERMANN J. WIEMER CABERNET FRANC 2007, NEW YORK
The 2007 Cabernet Franc Reserve exhibits a sensational inky ruby red color with ripe plum and berry flavors on the nose. The palate is full and round with fine but firm tannins and a soft elegant finish. Will improve further with cellar aging.    ON SALE - $ 27.98

ARBIOS CABERNET SAUVIGNON ALEXANDER VALLEY 2005, CALIFORNIA

BENNETT LANE MAXIMUS RED FEASTING WINE NAPA 2005, CALIFORNIA
The blend on the 2005 Maximus is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 11% Syrah. The wine opens with aromas of dark cocoa, plum, ripe black cherry and subtle hints of vanilla. ARROWOOD CABERNET SAUVIGNON SONOMA VALLEY 2006, CALIFORNIA
A strong effort, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma possesses rich black currant notes intermixed with hints of tobacco leaf, licorice, and milk chocolate. Already delicious, graceful, and medium to full-bodied without a hard edge to be found, it should evolve nicely for 7-8 years. This is another impressive group of wines from one of the most consistent winemakers and long-time veterans of the California wine scene, Dick Arrowood. He has always had the Midas touch with white varietals, yet he also continues to impress me with what he can do with red varietals. Moreover, Arrowood is also one of the pioneer Rhone Ranger producers, and his Syrah program has been supplemented with red and white French Cotes du Rhone-like blends called Cote de Lune, as well as an outstanding Viognier - Wine Advocate 89 Pts    ON SALE - $ 29.98

GABRIEL MEFFRE LAURUS CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE 2006, FRANCE
This wine is produced by one of the largest producer-negociants in the lower Rhone valley, Gabriel Meffre. The Laurus brand is an upper end reserve selection. We think it is the best value Chateauneuf du Pape out there. Highly alluring, expansive bouquet of blueberry, boysenberry, licorice and smoky Indian spices. Broad, and inviting on the palate, offering weighty berry compote flavors and complicating notes of truffle and anise. The spiciness repeats strongly on the finish, which is wonderfully long. A great choice for chicken, stews and turkey.
Decanter Wine Challenge: SILVER MEDAL    ON SALE - $ 34.98

FRANCOIS VILLARD LES CONTOURS DE DEPONCINS 2007, FRANCE
Here's a chance to try a stunning Viognier from one of the masters of Condrieu for a fraction of Condrieu prices. Robert Parker has called Francois Villard one of the "stars" of the Northern Rhone based on his highly allocated, highly scored, and highly priced Condrieus. Villard brings the same care, talent and skill to the making of this delicious Viognier from the Collines Rhodaniennes just south of the Rhone valley. Pretty floral aromas lead to loads of bright peach and apricot flavors followed by just a hint of mineral and smoke. Rich, but great energy and drive keep the wine refreshing. Drink now or over the next 3-4 years. Wine Spectator 90 Pts    ON SALE - $ 35.98

CAPTURE SAUVIGNON BLANC LES PIONNIERS 2009, CALIFORNIA
The marriage of California's frontier spirit, coupled with time-honored French winemaking techniques, give depth and nuance to Captûre Wines. With winemakers, Denis and May-Britt Malbec, formerly of Chateau Latour, and led by former Kendall Jackson exec, Ben Sharp, the resulting wine was destined for greatness. For our 2009 Les Pionniers Sauvignon Blanc, we have selected grapes of exceptional quality from several distinct Sonoma County hillside vineyards. These low yielding sites produce fruit with a range of Sauvignon Blanc characteristics, including bright citrus aromas and flavors, delicate floral hints, lively minerality and balanced acidity.

Our 2009 Les Pionniers Sauvignon Blanc has a nose rich with aromas of stone fruit such as apricots and peaches. We find hints of ripe pears with a floral touch of orange blossom. The wine has extraordinary balance and a long finish, where the minerality declares it a vin de terroir. Try this wine well chilled, and then enjoy its shifting complexity as the wine slowly warms. - Winery Notes

"Pale color. Subdued aromas of soft citrus fruits, lemon drop, minerals and spearmint, plus a whiff of goat cheese. Softer, lusher and fruitier than the Tradition but with firm acids framing the flavors of jasmine, honeysuckle, tarragon and licorice." Wine Spectator 91 Pts - IWC 92 Pts    ON SALE - $ 39.98

STEPHANE OTHEGUY 'LES MASSALES' COTE ROTIE 2005, FRANCE
The steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie produce a rich, velvety, deep wine with subtle smoky, bacon fat and flower tinged aromatics over an opulent base of roasted blackberry and plum fruits.    ON SALE - $ 55.98
